The OZG cloud is becoming a crucial element of administrative digitization in Germany. Schleswig-Holstein and Bavaria are already working together to make applications available to municipalities in this way, to expand them, and to always keep them up to date - a model for other German states.

When it comes to digitizing administration, the bundling of competencies can provide decisive impetus for innovation and optimization. However, it is important not to create isolated structures in the process. The practical and lasting impact on the ground should be considered at the same time.

IT infrastructure projects are notoriously complex and pose major challenges, especially for federal administrations and municipalities. To meet these challenges efficiently in the OZG context, IT infrastructures can be developed and provided according to the principle of "one for all" (EfA). In projects such as the OZG Cloud, the Funding Finder or MODUL-F, we have gained diverse experience with projects of this kind.

Discussions surrounding the modernization of registers in Germany focus primarily on the data-protection-compliant merging of register data from different areas. And quite rightly so. At the same time, however, this ignores other challenges that only arise in practice after data exchange - for example, the mapping of source data to the correct target fields.

From June 19-21, the future congress State and Administration will take place in Berlin's Westhafen (WECC). At the leading event for modern and digital Germany, which deals with the challenges and opportunities of digitization and technological innovation in the public sector, mgm will be represented on all three days of the congress with contributions on various topics.

The modernization of the German register landscape follows the principle of federal-decentralized data management. Digitized registers are a foundation for a networked bureaucracy. It is one of the most important events for digital transformation in Germany: the "Digital State".
