The digitalisation of public administration in Germany is suffering from the fact that administrative processes and services are not fully digitally conceived, planned and implemented. One main reason for this is that a great many actors are involved and – especially in the OZG context – the municipalities as the implementing level have often not been sufficiently involved. So the question is: how do we achieve end-to-end digitalisation in Germany?

In discussion: Hauke Rickertsen (OZG coordinator for the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), Eva Gnüg (Senior Consultant) and Marcus Warnke (Manager Public Sector)
Moderation: Karsten Kneese (Marketing Manager)
Length: 41 minutes

Listen to the podcast

At mgm, we have gained experience in many federal states in OZG projects and programme management and have also been able to support the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the OZG context. There, many of the problems have already been solved and structures have been established that enable a sustainable and future-proof digital administration. Because let’s not kid ourselves: without efficient, simple and citizen-oriented online services, public administration will no longer function in just a few years.

In the interview, Hauke Rickertsen, OZG coordinator for the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, talks about his experiences. What worked well, what can be improved, what is currently being worked on?

Eva Gnüg, Senior Consultant for OZG at mgm, adds her perspective as a member of the RaBe working group, and Marcus Warnke, Public Sector Manager at mgm, reports on his experiences of numerous public administration projects.
