Förderfinder Suite available on the FIT store

Last Updated on 1. April 2025 by mgm-marketing

The modular structure of the funding finder suite forms the basis for a standardised description of funding – and thus for a better and more user-friendly search. The ‘one for all’ product is now available for all federal states to use in the FIT Store as Software as a Service (SaaS).

Short & sweet

  • The Förderfinder Suite has been available as an EfA product in the FIT store since the end of August 2023.
  • By using the solution, federal states are supporting the establishment of a nationwide standard for the uniform description of funding.
  • The go-live of the new Förderfinder Suite editing tool will start in all Bavarian ministries in October.

Until now, anyone in Germany who wanted to find out about funding online usually encountered an impenetrable jungle of funding options. But that is about to change. The Förderfinder Suite is the foundation for the comprehensive digitalisation of the funding process. The joint project of the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs (StMD) and the Saxon State Ministry of Finance (SMF) in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is now available in the FIT store. mgm supports the project from conception to agile software development and technical implementation to project organisation, change management and roll-out.

‘From the outset, the Förderfinder Suite was designed for flexible and interoperable reuse – including for federal states that have already started to develop their own funding data infrastructure,’ explains Tanja Rückert, project manager of the Förderfinder at the Bavarian Ministry of Digital Affairs. By using the Förderfinder Suite, the federal states can reduce their efforts for the collection and provision of funding data in the long term, as well as standardise, simplify and accelerate related procedures.

Basis for the end-to-end digitalisation of the funding process

As a ‘one for all’ project (EfA), the funding finder is establishing a nationwide standard – XFoerderleistungsbeschreibung, or XFLB for short – for the structured and uniform recording of funding service descriptions (see Decision 2022/52 of the IT Planning Council). The project is cooperating with FITKO on the accompanying standardisation and is aiming for XÖV certification. Building on this, the suite offers a modular tool landscape with

  • an editorial tool for the standardised input of funding data,
  • a data storage and synchronisation tool for merging decentrally collected XFLB data (XFLB Connect), and
  • a modern search component that allows municipalities, companies, organisations, citizens, associations and universities to find the funding that suits them better than ever before.

The Digital Funding Platform of the Federal Government, which is currently being developed by the BMWK and will soon be available for reuse, is closely linked to the Förderfinder. It digitises all processes related to application and approval. Together, the Förderfinder Suite and the funding platform provide a modular end-to-end solution for next-generation funding portals.

First go-live in Q4 2023

The development of the Förderfinder Suite, which has been ongoing since September last year, is fully on schedule. A minimum viable product (MVP) was completed by the end of April 2023. In July, the first reference implementation was successfully carried out at the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration (StMI). The go-live is planned for the end of October in the entire state of Bavaria, i.e. in all state ministries for their individual funding services.

At the same time, the use of the Förderfinder Suite will be coordinated in all interested federal states from 2024, which can now conveniently obtain and reuse the product via the FIT store. The suite meets the minimum requirements for ‘One for All’ services V2.0 of the IT planning council and can therefore be adapted to country-specific requirements.

The next Förderfinder Suite‘s event of the StMD for interested federal states will take place on 27 September 2023 (registration by email). On this occasion, the project partners will not only provide information about the development status and answer questions about subsequent use. They will also show the software components of the Förderfinder Suite in action with a live demo.
