In addition to the register modernisation, the Online Access Act (OZG) is, of course, another key topic at the Future Congress Bavaria 2024. This year marks the start of the second pilot phase of the Bavarian municipalities for our OZG cloud and the register connection for even faster and more networked application processing.
Bavaria and Schleswig-Holstein are working closely together to implement the Online Access Act (OZG) in the municipalities in order to accelerate the roll-out of OZG services. To do this, they are relying on state-of-the-art cloud technologies that enable a high degree of automation.
The basis for the cooperation between the two public-law institutions ITV.SH and BayKommun is the OZG-Cloud platform, which has already been successfully established in Schleswig-Holstein. This platform maps the essential requirements of the German administration cloud strategy (DVS) and enables a multi-cloud solution that can be managed centrally while ensuring local self-government.
What will happen in 2024: second pilot phase in Bavaria and registry connection
After the successful first pilot phase, four more Bavarian municipalities are currently being connected to the OZG cloud so that more and more citizens and administrative staff can benefit from the many advantages of the digital solution.
Another new feature this year is the connection of registers for data processing. One example of how this can be used: a case worker is processing an application and needs to know whether the person is registered in the municipality. Thanks to the register connection, this information can be obtained simply and directly from the corresponding civil register at the push of a button. This way, the solution can meet the real needs of public administrations even better.
We look forward to answering your questions about the OZG cloud and our solutions for the public sector at the Bavarian Future Congress.
