mgm technology partners moved into its new headquarters in Munich in mid-January. The company’s new home is the Neue Siederei, a newly completed building at Taunusstrasse 23 in the north of Munich. There is now space for 250 employees across an area of approximately. Around 190 people currently work at the new head office, there are more than 750 employees around the world.

Kurz & knapp

  • The Neue Siederei business complex in the north of Munich is the new head office for the enterprise software specialist
  • Fit for the future: the newly built premises can accommodate over 250 employees across five floors
  • Contemporary, open office design and layout in a sustainably constructed building

Moving into the new premises is an important step for the company. “We are delighted to have found such a wonderful, modern property so flooded with light in the immediate vicinity of our former head office,” said mgm co-founder and CEO Hamarz Mehmanesh. “I’m proud to have made it possible for my colleagues to work in such an atmosphere.”

Ulrike Fuchs is an Account Manager and Project Manager, and has been Munich Branch Manager since 2015. “The relocation was urgently needed and something we had planned for,” she explained. “We have been able to implement 99% of employee requests, which is particularly pleasing.” For the last 24 years, the company’s headquarters have been located nearby on Frankfurter Ring.

Growth space in Munich

The company will retain its Munich South location in Obersendling (formerly occupied by eForce21 GmbH), which it obtained in July 2020. It offers space for around 35 employees and room for further growth in future. This means that staff can choose where they work based on where they live, their distance from each location, and their current project. Intensive remote collaboration in overarching project teams has already been standard practice at mgm for many years.

The new head office, which features floor-to-ceiling windows, stands on the former factory site of disinfectant and detergent specialist Dr. Schnell KGaA. The company produced soaps by hand on the site until the 1970s – hence the new development’s name, Neue Siederei, which translates to “New Boilery”. Completed in just under two years, the family office of Dr. Schnell has erected a modern office building offering approximately 25,000 square metres of office space, an open-plan canteen on the ground floor, bicycle stands with changing facilities and showers, plus an expansive roof terrace on the 6th floor. The developers aim to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification, which confirms a high standard of construction and operation and is assessed according to rigorous sustainability criteria. Indoor air quality is just one area examined during LEED certification. In the Neuer Siederei complex, used air is replaced with fresh air twice per hour in all office spaces and five times per hour in the meeting rooms.

On five floors technology, consulting and security

The teams at mgm technology partners and its two subsidiaries, mgm consulting partners and mgm security partners, have taken possession of areas across five floors around the building’s east courtyard. The company predominantly migrated its office infrastructure and technology in December to mid-January. All employees worked from home during this time. This had already been the case for the majority due to the pandemic, and will remain so for the time being.
