Allgeier Inovar: Energy Park ERP – From Microsoft Dynamics 365 to the A12 AI Low Code Plattform

Last Updated on 20. April 2026

Allgeier Inovar is developing AURELO Energiepark Manager, a specialized ERP solution for operators of complex energy park structures. When an existing customer requested support for approximately 3,000 tenants, the existing system architecture reached its limits. Together with mgm, a new solution is now being built on the A12 AI Low Code Plattform – one that meets the domain-specific requirements while also laying the technological foundation for the company’s future product strategy. A proof of concept for performance validation has already been developed, preparing the ground for the strategic platform decision.

Who Is Allgeier Inovar and What Is AURELO Energiepark Manager?

Allgeier Inovar is part of the Allgeier Group and develops industry-specific software solutions. With AURELO, the company offers ERP software for energy park operators. The solution is based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and has been extended with comprehensive domain logic for energy park management, including the administration of project companies, land parcels, ownership structures, and operational processes.

Why Does Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Hit Scalability Limits?

AURELO is functionally well-established and widely used in production. However, its technical foundation, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, follows a traditional tenant model with strictly isolated tenants.

For small and mid-sized customers, this model works well. But for larger enterprises with complex holding structures and several thousand subsidiaries, structural limitations become apparent:

  • System limit of a few hundred tenants
  • High per-tenant licensing costs
  • Strong vendor lock-in
  • Limited flexibility in architecture and further development

An existing customer requested the expansion of the solution to support approximately 3,000 tenants. This made it clear: the existing ERP foundation does not scale sufficiently, neither technically nor economically.

How Does the Migration of the Energy Park ERP to the A12 AI Low Code Plattform Work?

mgm and Allgeier Inovar jointly developed a proof of concept (PoC) based on the A12 AI Low Code Plattform.

The goal of the PoC was to demonstrate that:

  • The existing ERP business processes from AURELO can be modeled on the platform.
  • The multi-tenant architecture performs reliably even with 3,000 tenants.
  • Complex holding and ownership structures can be mapped in a clean, structured way.
  • Typical energy park use cases (e.g., project status, linked entities, task management) can be implemented efficiently.

Rather than building a purely technical prototype, the team deliberately created a realistic representation of core business processes.

Another key focus was knowledge transfer: Allgeier Inovar intends to model and evolve the platform independently going forward, much like they did with Microsoft Business Central. The PoC therefore also served to build an understanding of the A12 AI Low Code Plattform’s architecture, modeling logic, and development paradigms.

Scalable Multi-Tenancy, Cost Reduction, and Technological Independence

The PoC demonstrates:

  • Multi-tenancy for several thousand entities is achievable
  • Domain-specific ERP processes can be fully represented
  • A scalable architecture as an alternative to the previous ERP foundation
  • A strategic path toward replacing Microsoft Business Central in the medium term
  • A basis for significant licensing cost reduction
  • Substantially greater technological independence

The PoC thus delivers not just a technical feasibility study, but a robust decision-making foundation for Allgeier Inovar’s future product strategy.

Ulrich Zahner, CEO Allgeier Inovar

Ulrich Zahner, Managing Director of Allgeier Inovar: “With A12, we have found a platform that scales with our requirements. The proof of concept demonstrated that we can put AURELO on a foundation that remains performant and economically viable, even with several thousand tenants.”

Replacing Microsoft Dynamics 365: Production Launch by End of 2026

The successful PoC forms the foundation for the next project phase, which is already underway. Allgeier Inovar has evaluated the strategic evolution of AURELO based on the new platform. Going forward, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be replaced as the technological foundation. The goal is to establish a product architecture that is scalable over the long term, economically sustainable, and technologically independent, with a target completion date by the end of 2026.
