Focus on digital sovereignty: Our events in 2026

Last Updated on 19. January 2026

Digital sovereignty is defined as the ability of organizations and public administrations to maintain control over data, technologies, and digital infrastructures—independently of external providers and opaque platform ecosystems. When digital dependencies pose strategic risks, sovereignty determines the competitiveness and ability to act of states and companies.

Digital sovereignty is therefore becoming a strategic success factor: regulatory requirements, European data directives, and the need for trustworthy, transparent software solutions demand a clear commitment to self-determined digital solutions and secure architectures.

mgm events with a focus on the public sector

In 2026, our participation in various events will be dominated by the topic of digital sovereignty. In discussions with experts from administration, business, and technology, we will explore the question of how organizations can achieve data sovereignty, technological independence, and digital freedom of choice in the digital age.

At the following events, mgm will provide impetus for digital sovereignty and seek dialogue with experts from the federal and state governments as well as business and science:

February 5 – Future Congress Bavaria

This year, we are once again part of the Future Congress Bavaria, which will once again address digital modernization in a federal context. The focus is on sovereign IT strategies, secure data rooms, and practical solutions for state and local governments. Visit us at booth number 6 – or join the discussion with our managing director Hamarz Mehmanesh in “Expert Forum VI: Digital Sovereignty” in Germany and Europe.

March 3-4 – Digital State

At this year’s Digital State, we are “part of the adventure of the digital transformation of government and administration.” In 2026, the focus will be on data sovereignty, interoperable architectures, and technological independence. Digital sovereignty serves as a guiding principle for developing administrative processes in a resilient, transparent, and independent manner. Various colleagues will be available for lively discussion.

June 9-10 – Future Congress on Government and Administration

As a leading nationwide event, the Future Congress on Government & Administration discusses the future of public IT. In 2026, the focus will be on self-determined digitalization, which reduces technological dependencies and strengthens creative freedom. Digital sovereignty is a key topic here, and we will once again be participating in a specialist forum and a best practice dialogue. We look forward to in-depth discussions at our booth B013.

September 8 – Nordländer Digital

Under the patronage of Dirk Schrödter, Head of the State Chancellery of Schleswig-Holstein, this year’s Nordländer Congress will take place in Kiel. MGM will also be there again to comment on important topics related to administrative digitization.

October 13-15 – Smart Country Convention

And last but not least, we will also be represented at the Smart Country Convention in Berlin – on stage and, this year, also in the exhibition.

We cordially invite you

Digital sovereignty is not a one-off topic, but an ongoing strategic process. Our events in 2026 offer the opportunity to discuss together how this can be anchored in different projects and IT architectures. Together with you, we want to provide impetus, exchange experiences, and define concrete steps to strengthen your digital capabilities. Feel free to contact us and make an appointment. We look forward to constructive discussions.
