mgm at the Smart Country Convention 2024: practical AI and digitalization vs. bureaucracy

The Smart Country Convention (SCCON), the leading event for the digitalization of the public sector in Germany, will take place from 15 to 17 October 2024. We will be there with two exciting topics for you and look forward to your input and discussions about your challenges.

SCCON offers a platform to discuss innovative solutions and ideas for the future of digital administration and focuses on the digital state, smart cities and innovative technologies.

More bureaucracy comes from more regulation – it’s not the bureaucrats’ fault!

October 15, 2024 | 2:30 to 3:15 pm

This NEGZ discussion round focuses on the keyword bureaucracy: is it really the cause of many annoyances in our everyday lives or is it rather the ever new government tasks and regulations? Werner Achtert, Head of Public Sector at msg systems ag, will open the discussion with a keynote speech that critically scrutinizes the current situation. He will then be joined by other high-caliber experts from administration, science and politics, moderated by Roland Kreutzer, Partner and Head of Public Sector Consulting at mgm.

  • Prof. Dr. Kristina Lemmer, Bremen University of Applied Sciences
  • Moritz Ahlers, FITKO
  • Thilak Mahendran, Agora Digital Transformation

Starting practical AI projects: Workshop on the development of application scenarios with the AI canvas

October 16, 2024 | 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

In this seminar, we offer you practical insights into the opportunities and challenges of using artificial intelligence (AI) in public administration. Based on our extensive project expertise, we will present concrete application scenarios from everyday public administration. Participants will learn how to identify relevant application options themselves and develop them further with the help of an AI canvas for the respective department-specific requirements.

The workshop is aimed at interested people from all departments who want to familiarize themselves with the potential and challenges of AI and offers sufficient space for reflection and questions. Basic knowledge of AI is helpful, but not a prerequisite.

Leader of the workshop:

Antje von Garrel, mgm, expert for AI and business agility
Jan Jikeli, mgm, specialist for AI models and machine learning

Take the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts, gain new impulses for your work and actively shape the future of digital administration. We look forward to welcoming you to the Smart Country Convention 2024!
